As a tribute to Danny, his friends and family set up The Danny Riley Music Fund to help children and young adults with cancer and other serious conditions to experience the healing art of music. The Danny Riley Music Fund is administered by The San Diego Foundation. Donations can be sent to: TSDF-Danny Riley Music Fund, The San Diego Foundation, 2508 Historic Decatur Rd., Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92106.

Currently, we are partnering with A Reason to Survive (ARTS) in San Diego where they have created the Danny Riley Music Program. Children receive music classes in the music room at ARTS. We are also developing Healing through Music: the Secret Chord Project to provide iPods loaded with music for use by young patients at select medical facilities. These children and young adults can have music as a constant companion during treatment, in the waiting room, or when needing a little boast, as it was for Danny.

ARTS is a San Diego non-profit organization that is dedicated to healing, inspiring, and empowering children facing life challenges by providing innovative arts-based programs, education, and opportunities. ARTS provides opportunities for children to express themselves through various art mediums, such as visual arts, media art, and music, as they face life challenges ranging from having a disease to living in poverty. More information on ARTS can be found at their website: www.areasontosurvive.org.
